Since their 2005 debut, the response from fans and critics to Dala’s insightful, acoustic folk Best friends Sheila Carabine and Amanda Walther have been performing together since high school and it shows. Since penning their first song in 2002, the pair has released six albums, snagging a Canadian Folk Music Award for “Best Vocal Group,” a Juno nomination and the hearts of folk fans across North America along the way. From the melancholy 2009 hit “Horses” to the playful new single “Lennon and McCartney” (off the recently released Best Day), Dala’s music weaves together ethereal vocals and sensitive, insightful songwriting. After appearing multiple times at Massey Hall and selling out Glenn Gould Studio, Dala will bring their lush harmonies and sunny sense of humour to the crowd at Winter Garden Theatre.
After releasing two albums and touring extensively as a teen, Liam Titcomb took five years off before recording his new disc, Cicada. Soul searching led him to Nashville, where he worked with producer Jay Jayce (The Wallflowers, Patty Griffin) on the confident folk-pop sound that marks his new beginning.
