Box Office FAQs

How can I buy a ticket?


You may purchase tickets for performances at Roy Thomson Hall, Massey Hall, and select concerts at Winter Garden Theatre, Enwave Theatre and Rivoli by phone, in person or online.

What do I need to buy a ticket?


Online and by phone we accept Visa, American Express and MasterCard. In person at Roy Thomson Hall we accept cash, the credit cards mentioned above, debit, and Gift Certificates. At Massey Hall we accept the same method of payments as Roy Thomson Hall; however we do NOT accept Debit. At Winter Garden Theatre we accept cash, credit, debit but we do not accept Roy Thomson Hall gift certificates. We also collect address, email, and phone information to serve you better, to be able to inform you of any changes to the performance.

Can I purchase tickets in person at Massey Hall?


Yes, you can purchase tickets at Massey Hall on days in which we have a ticketed performance there. We are open starting at noon on these days.

Can I buy tickets to other RTH/MH shows at The Winter Garden Theatre?


No, at the Winter Garden Theatre Box Office you may only purchase tickets to Winter Garden Theatre performances.

Why is there a service charge even though I came in person to buy tickets?


For all performances presented by Roy Thomson Hall or Massey Hall are no service charges for tickets purchased in person at one of our Box Offices. However, we are unable to offer this discount to performances that are presented by an outside promoter who has rented one of our halls.

When can I pick up my tickets?


You may pick up your tickets starting 24 hours after you have made your purchase. If you wait until the day of the show to pick up your tickets we request that you come at least an hour prior to show time in order to avoid line ups. Please, see our hours of operation to see when each Box Office is open.

What will I need to pick-up my tickets?


You will need the credit card used to purchase the tickets as well as a piece of photo ID. Please, bring your confirmation number in case we need to look up your order.

I want to pick up tickets that some one else purchased, what do I do?


Tickets may only be picked up by the person who made the purchase.

I lost my tickets, what do I do?


Simply call our Box Office the day of or the day before the performance and we will write you a Duplicate Pass. This pass overrides the tickets. If the tickets do show up, this pass allows you to sit in the seats that you purchased. You will be asked for your name or your confirmation/account number. When you come the day of the show you will be given ONE duplicate pass that represents ALL tickets you have for that show. You must provide the credit card you used to purchase or identification as normal.

If you have lost your tickets the day of the show please arrive as early as possible before the show and present yourself to a box office representative. If you have your confirmation or account number the process of issuing you a duplicate pass will be much easier. If you show up ten minutes before show time you may be asked to wait to get your ticket and enter the event during the late call.

Do you sell gift certificates?


Yes, we sell Gift Certificates that can be redeemed for any ticketed performance at Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. Gift certificates may also be used at the Roy Thomson Hall Music Store. You may purchase gift certificates just as you can purchase a ticket: online, by phone or in person.

How can I redeem my gift certificate?


Gift Certificates may be redeemed in person or at checkout when you purchase tickets online. They should be treated as if they where cash. Gift certificates do not expire.

Are there rush seats available for performances at Roy Thomson Hall and Massey Hall?


No, we do not offer rush seats to our performances.

I bought my tickets from eBay, how do I know if they are real?


We do not sanction tickets that are sold through 3rd party ticket brokers. Valid tickets are always available through our Box Office and occasionally through Ticketmaster.

Can I upgrade my tickets?


No, all sales are final and there are no exchanges or refunds.

Can I pick up my Ticketmaster tickets at Roy Thomson Hall and/or Massey Hall?


No, if you buy Ticketmaster tickets you must pick them up at a Ticketmaster outlet. For a list visit We are not a Ticketmaster outlet.

Can I take pictures?


No, CAMERAS, RECORDING EQUIPMENT, PAGERS AND CELLULAR PHONES are prohibited inside the auditorium.

By purchasing tickets, you are agreeing to The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall conditions of sale and privacy policy.

IN THE INTEREST OF ALL PATRONS - LATECOMERS AND ANY PERSONS LEAVING THE AUDITORIUM WILL NOT BE SEATED UNTIL A SUITABLE BREAK. Management does not accept responsibility for the inconvenience and can make no adjustment on account of it.


TICKETS WILL NOT BE TAKEN BACK FOR EXCHANGE OR REFUND and are good only for the performance and seat issued. Because of policies established by our clients, we will not issue an exchange or refund for a ticket after it has been purchased, and we will not issue a refund for a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed ticket or for a ticket claimed to be "not delivered".

Tickets may be mailed or picked up only. Tickets may only be picked up by the cardholder of the card used to purchase the tickets. NO THIRD PARTY PICK UP. The cardholder must present the credit card used for purchase at time of pick up. Photo ID may be required.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE ITEMS, projectiles and other prohibited substances are not permitted inside the auditorium.

TICKETS MAY NOT BE RESOLD. Re-sale will invalidate your ticket. Your ticket is a personal license and is not transferable.

Your use of a ticket constitutes acknowledgment of willingness to appear in photographs, motion pictures and videos taken in public areas of the Building and releases the Hall, its lessees and all others from liability resulting from use of such photographs, motion pictures and/or videos.

Artist, programme and date subject to change without notice. By ordering a ticket to an event, you are consenting to The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall sharing your email address and other information with those involved in this event (e.g., clients, artists' representatives and fan clubs, promoters) for Customer Service purposes.
